I've tried to get a hold of most of the Mojang team by tweeting them about this issue, and Erik Boes replied to me linking me to this Issue tracker link

So one major difference I've noticed was that with the new launcher, FPS drops by almost 2x. I ran at a stable 40-50 FPS, and now I'm running 20 FPS. Almost every player that joins calls out "Lag", when previously in 1.5.2 we had no issues like this.

So I decided to do some research, and it turned out there's multiple threads made on this already, and all replies justify what I thought: FPS drops by basically 2x.

On most of the threads with the members complaining about the FPS issue, most of them have replies talking about how the new launcher changes the way your graphics card recognizes Minecraft, and this can be changed manually.

The thing about this is, almost 95% of the minecraft playerbase doesn't know about that, and most importantly: Doesn't know how to do that. I really don't want to have to make an announcement explaining how to manually change your graphics cards options to every player that joins.

Is there anything that can be done about this? I loved the 1.5.2 graphics defaults.
