Custom resolutions from the unified launcher can cause several issues when Minecraft Java Edition is booted up
Repro steps:
- Boot launcher
- In Java "Installation" tab, add a new version to be installed.
- Change the resolution in "Create new installation" window to the highest recommended (2560x1440) or set your own.
- Create the Java version and boot it.
- Observe as the loaded Java Title is displayed incorrectly, with unresponsive buttons.
- Observed results:
- Changing Java version to a custom resolution in Installation tab may cause several issues of the game window.
- Issues are the following:
- Game window is displayed in the corners, cut out of the screen area, which User may not be able to resize or move.
- Buttons of the Title are unresponsive or have their trigger misplaced.
- Both outcomes may happen at the same time.
- Unresponsive buttons confirmed to occur more frequently on macOS.
- Since the issue occurred on mac device with High-end monitor we assume this is not an issue related to the hardware.
Additional Info:
The following Java resolutions have been tested across the platforms:
2560x1440
2560x3000
1234x4321
1440x2560
Expected results:
Custom resolutions set for Java versions are fully functional and are displayed correctly.
