Hi,
I named a zombiefied piglin on height 250 in the nether, standing on a upper half slab (on y = 249). Named entities shouldn't despawn right? But this one did.
I tried 5 things:
1) I named him with a nametag in survival mode. Right after that I got about 40 blocks away from him, stood there a few minutes, left the area, came back - he despawned.
2) I threw a helmet onto the zombified piglin, he picked it up and used it as a helmet. I pushed him onto the upper half slab in survival. I got another few zombified piglins aggro at me, then followed the same steps as in 1) from "Right after that"
3) I named the zombiefied piglin with a different name than before. I stood right next to him for about 10 minutes, got away 40 blocks from him and stood there for another 10 minutes.
4) I tried the same thing as 1) in a creative world. Exact same height, block, seed etc. Only the x and z coordinates were different. I summoned a zombified piglin using the summon command. No nbt. I named him, left the area, came back - he despawned.
5) I tried the same thing as 4) only that I used a pig, then a zombie. The pig didn't despawn. The zombie didn't despawn. They just stood there as if nothing happened - as you would expect.
The survival world was a vanilla server running 1.16.4 on nitrado. The creative world was on my Linux machine. I'm not using any resource packs, except the default built-in one. When I say that I "left the area" I mean that I got away over 128 blocks.
I used a Vanilla Client.
So what's going on?
