Steps:

1. get a water bucket
2. find grass.
3. Hold right-click while looking at the top of the grass. The water bucket will be placed on top of the grass.
4. NOTE: while this photo has OptiFine installed, I checked and the glitch still happens in Vanilla Minecraft.
