I purchased 3x ink sacks from the wondering trader for a book and Quill. The crafting recipe doesn't count the ink sacks from the Wondering trader as an ink sack. I was able to kill a squid and the recipe worked with those ink sacks. The traded ink sacks and the squid ink will not combine in the inventory either. So something with the wondering trader is messed up.
