Tamed wolves (or, dogs) can appear to be sitting while they are floating on top of water

      Steps to Reproduce:

      1. Spawn a wolf
      2. Tame it
      3. Make it sit
      4. Push it into water
The wolf will have 'sitting:1b' applied, but float standing upright
      5. Leave the world
      6. Rejoin the same world
The wolf will have 'sitting:1b' applied, but float with the sitting model applied

      Expected Results:

The wolf would not be sitting down while floating in the water, as any other time they are submerged in water the properly appear standing upright

      Notes:

This is likely due to the fact that when the game loads the world, it checks if the 'sitting' entity data is set to 'true' and regardless of the dogs submergion state, it simply applies the sitting model.
