Im playing on realms and can hear the pigeon brutes and see they are near in the subtitles but they are unable to be seen. I was killed and went back and saw the particle when it landed on the ground to attack me, I killed it by towering and just shooting down hoping to hit it. then I encounter another one that's invisible.
