The bug
On bedrock edition when you mine a respawn anchor with silk touch, it will store its charges. This is also visible on the texture of the item, when you then place it again, it will still have the charges. However this is not the case in java. On java it will lose the charges when mined with silk touch. According to https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/360043896251-Minecraft-Beta-1-16-0-63-Xbox-One-Windows-10-Android-, the bedrock behavior is intentional.
How to reproduce:
- Place a respawn anchor
- Charge it with glowstone
- Get a silk touch pickaxe
- Mine it in survival mode
- Place it again
All of the charges are gone.
