When I start my minecraft launcher, it says I am on the "newest release" of the game, but it thinks that is version 1.16.1. I am on vanilla minecraft, I don't have any extra mods or installations etc. I have tried to redownload everything by deleting the old MC I had downloaded and redownloading it from minecraft.net, but it still says latest release 1.16.1.

I can not play on realms or certain servers because of this, it's getting annoying.

Any tips how I can force update it or what's going on? I'm on Mac.
