When I spawned in the end in my world there was no crystals at all, the fire and bedrock was there but no sign of the crystals. Even the ender dragon wasn't using them to heal. In the picture you can see that there is no crystals, I had beaten the ender dragon but I didn't have to destroy the crystals. I don't know why this happened but I hope it can be fixed.
