I am on of those PC gamers who prefer ESDF keys for directional movement instead of the standard WASD keys. As a result, I mapped crouching from the Shift modifier key to the 'A' letter key.

The issue comes when I place a Sign while crouching, as I unwillingly wrote 'a' letters onto the Sign. I expected that the Sign wouldn't take letters corresponding to the key that is pressed before placing the Sign even though the the key was still held after the placement. In other words, I expected that the Sign only takes characters from inputs that is pressed after that Sign was placed, not by holding a key.

      Steps to reproduce:

      1. Map croucing to a letter key (or any character key) in the Controls Option.
      2. Enter a Minecraft world.
      3. Get a Sign.
      4. Place that sign while crouching with the remapped crouching key.
      5. Notice that you get a bunch of the same characters as long as you hold the crouch key even if you only intend to hold the key to be able to place the Sign and not to write on the Sign.
