sometimes when placing a block the block will disappear or become invisible until another block is placed in the same spot, which sometimes results in one of the blocks being lost.

Another effect possibly resulting from the same bug is that when mining a block will appear to have been broken but will either reappear or become invisible while still acting like it is still there.
