Starting from Minecraft 1.8, short grass is no longer affected by Mipmapping. From searching, there is no source in the changelogs stating this was an intentional change.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Create a single biome world, all plains (Not necessarily required, but is the easiest biome)
- Enable mipmapping
→ Observe results - Now, disable mipmapping
→ Observe results
Observed Behavior:
When the short grass viewed from a distance, it will appear very grainy, and unpleasant when compared to other surrounding blocks.
Expected Behavior:
The short grass would properly be affected by mipmapping, like other blocks.
