By pushing a transparent block like a glass block against the world border, then pusing another block in it, you can create a ghostblock. This works for any worldborder size. By reloading the world the visual appearence goes away, but the collision is still there, the blocks will only return to normal once the world border is made bigger.
Works on multiplayer and singleplayer.
