      What Happened:

When in the End dimension on my 1.16.1 server, I was killing the wither under the portal to repair my trident (Unbreaking III, Loyalty III, Channeling, Impaling V, Mending) in my offhand. I accidentally activated it and to preserve it, threw it at the bedrock in the home end-portal. It did not hit the portal, but bedrock, and attempted to return to me. The animation occurred but it was glitchy and it was not returned to my inventory. In my subtitles, there was also the sound "trident returns". I went through the portal to see if it accidentally phased through but it was not there.

What I expected to happen was...:

The trident with Loyalty III to return to me when thrown at bedrock in the end portal.

      What actually happened was...:

It attempted to return but was not in my inventory.

      Steps to Reproduce:

**1) Have a trident with Loyalty III and throw it at the bedrock in the lower two pieces in the End dimension.

      2) Watch it not return.

      3) Later, in the overworld, it will return to you after about 5 minutes.

      Notes:

It sometimes does return, but not always. The animation becomes messed up. It was specifically thrown at the two bottom pieces of Bedrock.

      EDIT:

After about 5 minutes of being back at the overworld for a while, every one of the tridents returned to me. I was not near the portal nor near my bed. I no longer think this bug is an issue.
