Blank Realms screen & game crashes after a minute

      When i press "minecraft realms" on the main menu i get an empty realm screen and after about 1 minute my game crashes with the following error

      The game crashed whilst rendering screen
      Error: java.lang.NullPointerException: Rendering screen
