- Create a 2x3 portal so that the inner portal blocks are on Z=0 and -0.
(In the nether, make sure to move the portal if it was created in the wrong place.) - In the overworld, walk on Z=0.5 into your portal.
- In the nether, notice that your Z is still 0.5, instead of the expected -0.5.
- In the nether, walk on Z=0.5 into your portal.
- In the overworld, notice that your Z is now -0.5 as expected.
At a guess, this could be caused by the which block Minecraft uses to calculate the portal's position.
I recorded footage but the 10MB limit is too small, by the time I have compressed it enough the video is just a blur.
I also noticed that the player would occasionally face the wrong way after teleporting, like MC-3 and MC-105207.
I am creating a plugin that allows minecarts with passengers to travel through portals, hence the tracks - however, during the test above I am flying on a vanilla world. I also recorded footage with the plugin enabled. It shows that entities travelling along the rail and into the portal are not visible in the nether but will somehow still look like they are looping in the overworld (albeit on alternating sides of the track due to the bug). This only happens on the axis, the same setup away from the axis works perfectly.
