What I expected to happen was...:
seeing items in hands/placing blocks/interacting with entitites

What actually happened was...:
unable to see items in hands and unable to place blocks and unable to interact with entities

Steps to Reproduce:

1. enter boat in water
2. leave boat while rowing
3. now unable to place blocks and items in hands are invisible

**it happened once while swimming but I am now unable to get it to occur again
