When travelling by boat, if the boat is broken with the player still in it, they lose the ability to place blocks and their hand disappears, although it is still possible to break blocks.

This was tested on a server where other people confirmed to experience the same issue, as well as in a singleplayer world to verify it wasn't unique to any server plugins.

The method used to break the boat did not affect the outcome, nor which gamemode the player was in. The only way to resolve the problem was to quit back to the main menu.
