I'm trying to create a large room, and for some reason new lights just aren't working. I've read torches and lanterns are supposed to generate light at a level of 15, but I'm adding them in various places with no effect. The light level on the block and shadows are staying the same as before. I've tried the fix for prior versions of saving my game from my realm and erasing the cache, but still no go. Even my lava looks dimmer than it does out in the world ![]()
This is the first time I've noticed this issue- was simply trying to make this room nice and bright, but nope.
A few things- I'm a minecraft noob (only been playing since two weeks into quarantine), so maybe I'm doing something wrong. I haven't enclosed the room yet- it's pretty big and I need more stuff. There are a lot of lanterns everywhere- is there some limit I don't know about? Am I putting too much stuff in one space? Am I overthinking this? Another question I thought of- does I've used nether bricks (red) because they're pretty- is there some sort of negative light effect with that stuff? Can't find any documentation on that but I guess it would make sense?
