    • Windows 10. The server is running on Paper, but paper is reporting that it is most likely a bug on the underlying Mojang Server.
    • Unconfirmed

The server was running, with players logged on.  The computer the server was running on went to sleep, shutting down the server. When the server wrote out the player data, the players that were accessing chests or their inventory, their player information was corrupted. So the next time they logged on, they spawned back in the world spawn, with an empty inventory and an empty world save.

What I expected to happen was...:
Player data would not be corrupted

      What actually happened was...:
      Player data was corrupted

      Steps to Reproduce:
      1. Start up the server.

      2. Fill you inventory

      3. Let the computer that the server is running on go to sleep

      4. Wake the computer (relaunch the server as the server will have been shut down)

      5. log back in and see that your items are gone.

The server is running on Paper (https://papermc.io/)but paper is reporting in their logs that it is probably not their part of the server client. If it is their server that is causing the problem, this issue can be ignored.

Thanks for taking a look at this!

(there is no crash-report generated by the server shut down)
