The left redstone torch is off by the redstone torch on the right side, like any version, the redstone dust shows that.

In 1.9 (up to 20w17a)
Here, the left redstone torch is off by the redstone torch on the right side, like any version, but the redstone dust doesn't show that.
The logic wants the left torch to stay on.
 
(Yes I did a report it just for that... I'm a redstone player and this is a bug, little bug..)
