When using the developer launcher, a kernel panic will occur on any attempt to resize the game window. As far as I can tell, the version of Minecraft is irrelevant, and this only happens in the experimental/dev launcher. Attempting to increase the size of the game window after the logo screen passes will result in a kernel panic/a full computer freeze/the computer to shut itself down. I would give you log files, but you know. Kernel panics. This only occurs in attempts to increase the size of the window; decreasing it has the expected effect. If you resize while the "MOJANG" screen is still showing, you can freely do so with no issues. As soon as the main menu comes up, and from that point on (whether in a world or not), increasing the size of the window causes a kernel panic.

Edit: Alright, I stand corrected. Kernel panics can happen on a decrease in window size as well. This we have learned. (I've gotten at least 10 of these by now, both by testing around to get details and because I forgot sometimes and went to change the window size.)

Edit part 2: Another accidental window resize, and a quick force quit closed it normally. (After a freeze.) I got this: "Minecraft quit unexpectedly while using the liblwjgl.jnilib plug-in." Hope that helps identify the issue!
