When fire is extinguished-either by the player or the block it is on being destroyed/burned-it produces particles as if the fire itself was a block that was broken, and plays the sound of carpet being destroyed in addition to the intended "hissing" extinguishing sound. This seems to occur regardless of the block the fire was on, and even applies to blue fire on soul soil.

      To reproduce, simply:

      1. Light a block on fire using a flint and steel.
      2. extinguish it by left-clicking the fire as normal.

Alternatively, light the leaves of a tree and watch for the particles as the blocks burn up, though sometimes this glitch doesn't seem to occur using this method and some leaves burn as normal. Additionally, extinguishing fire using a bucket of water also doesn't cause this glitch to happen.
