When crafting, as well as viewing inventory, rolling over the four slots at top right causes the cursor to freeze up, rendering the items in those slots unable to be selected and moved.  I have found that exiting inventory and right clicking an oven or chest allows me to remove those items.  Note* The screenshot doesn't appear to capture the actual mouse cursor in inventory, which would show up as separated from the item I'm holding, block of coal.
