Hello there staff of Jira and Mojang, I have encountered a bug in minecraft while chopping trees.
What happens is that when you look straight up while it's raining while chopping logs with it's correct tool, the rain flickers through the leaves. I tried this in creative but it didn't work. I also tested this with  other variants of trees and also created a fake tree with different blocks and it seemed to happen, its easier to see with leaves though.
