The end of the fishing line is stuck in mid-air, just floating there

What I expected to happen was...:
that the end of the line would stick into the block like usual.

What actually happened was...:
The end "bounced" of the block and appeared to stay in mid-air

Steps to Reproduce:
1. get a fishing rod
2. ... Aim at a cactis block
3... cast the rod, the rod will stick to the block then "bounce" of into the air.
