Hand animation plays when trying to use a spawn egg 5 blocks away from the player's reach

      The bug

      This only happens if the player is in survival mode. Hand animation plays if the player tries to use a spawn egg and spawn a mob from 5 blocks away from the player, which does not spawn the type of mob that depends of what spawn egg the player uses. This looks rather confusing whether the spawn egg has spawned a mob or not.

      Steps to Reproduce:

      • Obtain any kind of spawn egg and switch into survival mode.
      • Perfectly align yourself in a way where this problem is apparent by executing the command provided below.
      • /execute align xyz run tp @s ~0.5 ~ ~0.5 -180 20
      • Try not to change your facing direction and attempt to spawn the given entity using the spawn eggs.
      • Take note as to whether or not the hand animation is played when trying to use spawn eggs outside of the player's reach in survival mode.
