I am experiencing an issue whereby whenever resource packs are reloaded on my Minecraft Java Edition install, I get no sound afterward in the game whatsoever. In order to get sound again, I have to exit the game completely and relaunch it. This behavior of losing the sound happens regardless of whether the resource packs are reloaded with F3+T, or if by connecting to a server that downloads resource packs. (This has the unfortunate side effect of meaning I can't play on any server with custom resource packs with sound.)

I have two PCs on which I play Java MC regularly. My desktop is consistently affected by this issue, however, on my laptop, I do not have this issue and sounds load normally after a reload. Both are running Windows 10 Pro and Java 8. I mention this in case there are some log files I can provide from each environment in an attempt to diagnose what the issue may be here.
