So when spawning into my world I decided to look for a bee nest to settle next to. Found one not far from spawn and I notice it wasn't filling up with honey. When I later stood next to the nest I found out the bees were quickly exiting the nest and going back in instead of collecting pollen. After sitting out front of the nest and punching until I hit a bee, which lets it stay out it flew around and got the last comb needed to make a bee hive or the box thing. When I placed that down I had the same issue but this time I timed it and it was 30 second intervals exactly. And its the same for every hive and nest that I've found and crafted though it worked fine in my creative testing world. Any ideas?
