When you look at a map normally, it can show where your character is and where it's looking. But when you place a map on an item frame, the player location will be locked to the location of where the map is, which is what is supposed to happen. But the map location is pointing the wrong way. It's hard to explain in text, so I'll attach two photos. One photo shows the map on the item frame with the map location pointing the wrong way, and the other photo shows the same map from a different angle to prove that it's wrong.
