Summary: I enter the Nether. Ghast fires fireball. I go back in the portal. When I am in Overworld, fireball collides; but only "the Nether half" of portal breaks. There are 2 portals in the Nether--the broken original, and a new one.
What I expected to happen was...:
What I expected to happen was that I would just come out through the original portal.
What actually happened was...:
What actually happened was a new portal was created because the original was somehow broken by a ghast fireball.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Enter a Nether portal.
2. Get a ghast to shoot at you in such a way that it would put out the portal.
3. Get back in the portal so that you are transported to the Overworld before the fireball collides with the portal.
4. Go back into the Nether and you will see that there is one burnt-out portal and one operating portal that you just came through.
IMPORTANT!: This is not necessarily the exact way to reproduce the glitch. I am sorry if it is not the right way; but this is just what I think happened based on what I can remember. I was not recording or anything and I was really terrified at the time so I do not know what exactly happened.
