I have looked at the Mojang tech support as well as numerous websites and articles to fix this issue. I've changed and reset my skin, made suggested alterations to the .minecraft file concerning skins, and reinstalled Minecraft. Nothing has worked to get skins back for me. It's not only my skin I can't see but in multiplayer I can't see other people's either. This applies for all gamemodes.
