The Bug
The snow animation is rendered stretched when the player is very high above the ground.
I can reproduce this as far back as Beta 1.6.5, as extreme heights tend to crash Beta 1.5 through Beta 1.6.4. The bug also manifests as far back as late Classic with rain.
