Clicking on the search icon does nothing. I'm not able to use the search function in the recipe book.

Switch into survival mode and open the recipe book in your inventory.
Click on the search icon next to the recipe book search field.
Take note as to whether or not the recipe book search field is selected when clicking on the search icon.
