Item model faces no longer render their texture on both sides of the face. Instead, the texture is culled on the back side. This can be seen easily by looking inside any block item (alternatively summoning armor stand with a block item on it) and seeing the inside is empty in 19w41a but in previous versions you can see the texture from the inside as well.
