    • im using java 1.8.0_51 (that might be inaccurate, im not particularly good with stuff like this) on a quite a low power laptop that sometimes struggles a little running minecraft so i am using the optifine mod to make everything run a little smoother.

when i attempt to travel long distances minecraft struggles to load the chunks. Usually its just a visual thing and all i have to do is place a block in the invisible chunk and itll appear however after a certain distance i will encounter a completely missing chunk. Its as if my minecraft world just ends in a completely flat cliff face and all there is beyond that is void. If i fall off the edge of the missing chunks i completely fall out of the world and, according to my coordinates, continue falling 1000s of blocks below bedrock. Additionally, once I encounter these missing chunks everything seems to freeze, mobs are completely frozen, i am unable to use commands, placing double height/length blocks like beds or tall grass leave only half of the block and not the other and this also applies to breaking blocks as well. Attempting to exit the game leaves it permanently stuck on the saving game screen and the only way ive found of fixing this is to force minecraft to close using task manager and restart it.
