I repeatedly find pumpkin stems growing out of what had been farmland and is now either dirt or grass. If a pumpkin grows and is broken, the stem breaks and is converted to seeds.

This has happened on multiple occasions with a number of different pumpkin stems, with multiple stems being affected. (Edited for clarity; I have only seen this with pumpkins, not with other crops. I do not yet have watermelons in this world.)
