The link to the post I am referring to
I have posted the same post with the same problem yesterday, to which a moderator marked it as resolved and invalid, along with the following response:
Even the best computers have trouble with a render distance of 32 chunks. Turn that distance down. 12 chunks is recommended.
To clarify, this problem is not related at all to the render distance. If it was I would not have made this post. The lag I am referring to occurs regardless of the render distance, albeit gradually less drastic with decreasing render distance(as is to be expected). As well as this, the mentioned lag does not stay in minecraft, i.e. it branches out to the rest of my system (as mentioned). I have indeed followed their suggestion of running with 12 chunks, although I observe the same result
I just wanted to point this out, in the event that someone considers this a spam post. I simply found the issue not invalid and most certainly not resolved.
Post:
So I recently started playing minecraft again, with 1.14.3 being the latest version at the time. Lately I have been experiencing severe lag issues after a while of playing. The only way I can track this is of course the FPS
So usually I play at approximately 40 - 60 fps in-game. This is consistent for a while, until out of nowhere I get 10 - 18 fps. I suspected this might be due to the graphics card throttling itself due to heat, but this problem does not go away. This lag branches out to the rest of my computer, even with minecraft shut down. I experience sever lag in other applications as well.
To solve this problem, I have to restart my laptop, and then the aforementioned sequence of events restart.
What is the reason for this problem, and how do I fix it?
