When you die in hardcore mode it gives you 2 options. Spectate world and Delete world. if you click spectate world, all is good but if you click delete world, the minecraft main menu background picture is a freeze-frame of when you died and you can't load/create any other world. And when you  ALT TAB out, minecraft stops responding and you have to close it from task manager.
