version 1.2.1 crashes after launch

ok so basically it doesn't affect 1.14.4 but idk how any of this works. it actually affects 1.2.1 - 1.2.5 and prolly more versions. i think it might have something to do with these older versions of mc running on actually java (like how you see a little coffee cup pop up as minecraft instead of a crafting table on the hot bar). idk one thing told me it's about un-updated hardware, another told me something else i can't remember but it wasn't talking about hardware. help
