I recently built a villager breeder in my world, and it began working as it was supposed to. The villagers recognized the village, and began farming with their workstations. They had plenty of food, and I traded with them often (both masters at the farming trade); they were willing to breed. They entered love mode, passing food to each other back and forth, but would end with hurting particles, and would go back to farming. After doing a fair amount of research I gave my two villagers access to 8 beds. They can walk right up to them and sleep, and they have. The census villager is located 5 blocks up, and has 6 valid "houses". The census villager also has skylight. Everything is in the right conditions for them to breed, but my two farmers will continuously pass each other food, enter love mode, but break up. I'm at a loss to fix this issue.
