A villager will pick a work station that is 1 block away to the south, east or south-east of it even if it can't pathfind to said work station.

The villager will not, however, pick a work station that is 1 block away from it if the work station is north, west, north-west, south-west or north-east of it.

The attached .gif file shows this bug working. The villager is surrounded by fences, so it can't pathfind out of it. The red blocks represent places where the villager will not pick a work station, and the green blocks represent places where the villager will pick a work station. The blue block indicates where the north points.

The attached .png file shows a top view of the test environment. Again, the blue block indicates where the north points.
