I've noticed that similar issues have been brought up, but they all had resolved on them.
My sheep keep disappearing at random. Entire flocks. There are no wolves in my area, nor are my sheep escaping and wandering around. They just disappear without a trace. Having read others encounters with the problem, I can only surmise that a bug needs to be fixed regarding fences - or perhaps the sheep themselves. I am tired of losing my flocks, as I have them all divided into each of the 16 colors. And it seems like every time I hop onto the server, at least 2 or more of my pens have become empty of sheep.
I did notice that naming the sheep prevented the sheep from disappearing. One of my cyan sheep was named jeb (just jeb, not the rainbow one), and he was the only one left standing of all my cyan sheep when I hopped on one time.
I've been told it could be a chunk border problem, but given I have all of my pens spread out, I don't see why I will have flocks that are quite a few blocks apart disappear without a trace while all the other sheep remain.
This has been a repeating issue on a multiserver I am on. I have not noticed any issues with my single player world. Also, it has just been sheep. Just sheep. None of my other animals have disappeared like that, and they are all in fenced pens, too. And in the same areas as my sheep.
