The slowdown in Minecraft is a bit buggy

What I expected to happen was...:
If you hold an shield, you normally couldn't do that.

What actually happened was...:
I holded the shield, and i still sprinted.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Hold an shield (or bow), hold the sprint button and then hold the shield.
