Blocks seem to be spontaneously exploding or lighting on fire since I've upgraded my server and client to version 1.14.2.
The first 4-5 times I logged into my server after upgrading it to 1.14.2, I found that single blocks or groups of blocks in naturally spawning structures and player built structures were missing. At first I thought that my structures were being "attacked" by overzealous Endermen. My village is so well lit that nothing spawns there but the occasional Enderman teleporting in.
Today (2019-05-31) when I logged into my server I saw a tamed cat explode, multiple oak fences spontaneously light on fire, a forest spontaneously light on fire as I was watching, and about 25% of the structures in my village render with blocks missing. I've attached screenshots of a small percentage of the damage that occurred when I logged into my server today.
Here is the best replication path I can offer:
- 2019-04-27 created a new Minecraft server on version 1.14
- Used seed = 640085127535884 (attached server.properties in case it matters)
- No spontaneous explosions or fires
- Villagers did randomly despawn (as in a villager was in a building, I left and immediately went back in the only entrance, and the villager was gone)
- 2019-05-14 upgraded server to version 1.14.1
- Same experiences as I had on version 1.14
- 2019-05-27 upgraded server to version 1.14.2
- Created a backup of my server before upgrading from 1.14.1 to 1.14.2 (the backup is too large to attach, but I can upload elsewhere or attach specific files on request)
- I log in an out multiple times per day. The described issue does not happen on every log in, but often enough that I've had to rebuild my village multiple times.
