A wandering trader in my world was showing absurd speeds. At first I had assumed that a nearby beacon with a speed effect was the cause of his rapid movement but after the deletion of the speed effect he was still super fast. I then punched him and he seemed to return to normal walking speed for a few seconds, before going back to running. The wandering trader also does not have an illama.
