Upon launching Minecraft 1.14 Pre Release 5, the game would launch, displaying the Mojang logo for about 5 seconds, and then crashed. The message in the log said this:
# # A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment: # # SIGSEGV (0xb) at pc=0x00007faf8abd9e1d, pid=24218, tid=0x00007fafe0154700 # # JRE version: Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (8.0_201-b09) (build 1.8.0_201-b09) # Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (25.201-b09 mixed mode linux-amd64 compressed oops) # Problematic frame: # C [libjemalloc.so+0x9e1d] je_free+0x21d # # Failed to write core dump. Once I ran "ulimit -c unlimited" in the bash terminal, it would launch, but would sometimes crash in the menu.
