This started happening in 1.14 Pre-release 4, but I filing this because it is still happening in 1.14 Pre-release 5.

After trying several different things, I went so far as to reinstall my operating system, and reinstall Minecraft.

After I open the launcher and click the Play button, the Mojang flash screen appears, and the loading bar gets to about half full, then stops and the game crashes.

If I launch the 1.13 version it works.
