The game will not set spawn when sleeping. Command blocks have been used to alter the day-night cycle, but the issue persists when the command blocks are not active. Attempts to reset the game have been fruitless. The position of the bed has mattered in the past but not currently. Spawn was once set to a naturally spawning blue bed in an NPC village. Player created white and then red beds also did not function normally.
